Pastry Adventures (The Bakistry Review)
Moving to Port-Harcourt took a lot from me, but i was happy to be in a new environment and experience new things. Curious me was looking for a pastry shop were i can get good pastry and ice-cream. I got recommendations ranging from ColdStone to Genesis. This is were I found The Bakistry. The Bakistry is located at 82 Abuloma Road Port-Harcourt and it was recommended by my friend Daniel. On entering to the shop, it was so inviting and gave me the upscale feel I loved. The staff were nice and I was even welcomed by the owner (rare right).
They offered me samples of different ice-cream flavors, you can't get that at ColdStone (just saying). I was in for a treat. I sampled all and ended up with a pineapple and coffee mix. I liked every bit of it though. The flavors mixed well together and it was creamy and had the right texture. I was really impressed.
Next I sampled the meat pie. We all know that meat pie generally in Nigeria is horrible. The gravy is usually not done to the right texture. There is always something wrong, it's either the meat was too few or not at all present, the was either wrong or just a mess. I could go on and on, but you get the gist. When i had a taste of the meat pie I marveled. Though the dough wasn't as soft as I would like it too but I was generally impressed with the gravy which had everything I was looking for.
I went on to sample their Chocolate Cupcake. Everyone who knows me knows that I'm a sucker for a good chocolate cake and the easiest way to make me dislike you is mess up my chocolate cake. The chocolate cake was divine. It was fluffy, the flavor was just right. There's no describing the feeling I was just happy.
My Trip to The Bakistry was generally positive and I would totally recommend them to anyone. So if you're ever in Port-Harcourt and carving good pastry, I suggest you go to The Bakistry.
