Ways To Start Your Day POSITIVELY
Whenever we have up it's always an good feeling. It's a chance to accomplish all that we can be. So the energy we start the day has an effect on how the rest of the day is going to turn out. Here are some activities I recommend you to try out for a POSITIVE filled day.
1) PRAYER: Starting the day by speaking with The Maker has a way of setting the tone for the day. Growing up this was an intrigual part of my household. My family are practicing Catholics. My mother told us that there are 3 important parts to prayers which helps us connect.
They are: Thanksgiving, Penance and Supplication.
In doing this we are thankful for what we have, obtain forgiveness for past transgressions and ask for what we desire as long as they are not bad and selfish.
2) MEDITATION: By meditating, we focus our mind calmly on the activities of the day. We bring on positive energy that can last us throughout the day. Meditation helps reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and pain. It helps to enhance peace, bring about perception, self-concept, well-being and mental clarity.
3) MUSIC AND DANCE: Most of us have never considered dancing as a way of beginning the day. This is a very underrated activity. Waking up in the morning and dancing to your favourite song has a way of channeling positive energy to your day. It helps you feel empowered and that you can accomplish anything during your day. Dancing can help improve our brain functions on many different levels, which help enhance our mental and emotional state of mind. Give it a try, you maybe surprised.
4) DAILY AFFIRMATIONS: Daily Affirmations has is the fostering of positive beliefs in ones self. These are words or statements that can be repeated to ones self for strength, inspirations and encouragement. For affirmations to be effective, it is said that they need to be present tense, positive, personal and specific.
According to Brendan Baker, founder of The Start of Happiness, affirmations work best when they encompass three elements:
- visualization of the affirmation in one's life
- feeling the affirmation in one's physiology
- vocalizing the affirmation in a way that one is already congruent with that affirmation.
